He sits, not thinking

He sits, not thinking
In the wooden pupil's desk
Knowledge's recepticle.

Education Sonnet I

Run, Child, run.
There ain’t nothin for you here.
There ain’t nothin but yesterday’s news
And yesterday’s views that didn’t work too well for them people yesterday neither.
Run, Child, run.
There are bad folks on the loose
Who think that sitting in school
And takin’ fool test after fool test is some way of preparin for life.
And what the hell do they know anyway?
What counts as good-to-know to one person might not work so well some other place or some other day
Or, hell, to another person entierly, and now I’m gettin to what I want to say:
Your life should be no more about School than it is about video games.
(And those, by the way, are rottin’ your brains)
So Run, Child, run, Don’t let some fool who neither knows you nor loves you tell you how to live your life.
