I've seen the greatest

I've seen the greatest
Minds of my generation
Ask: "Want fries with that?"

Johnson, please tell me you're still writing something besides haiku. 'Cause the haikus are great, you still have your edge, you're being diligent about putting them out, and the world deserves more. Well, maybe it doesn't deserve it, but it'd help.

Well, no, not really. I've been putting off saying anything, because I feel I should have been writing, but I don't know exactly what I should have been writing. Things are still simmering in my head. It's painful sometimes.

This poem is great! and a fantastic current social commentary.
I wouldn't worry too much about saying something that is too profound right now, you're only 27. You'll be writing for the next 60 years at least, and so all you need to do is keep improving. Anything that you write like a simple haiku, that you like and as is relateable to others will create beautiful waves in our conscious. I think writers, like painters, try too hard sometime to "say something important," and all too often lose any heart and human impact.
So write for fun about anything, and you'll probably see the profound statement within the clues of your own writing. Don't force it, let it evolve naturally. Trust that God will open your mind to it in his own time. Never get frustrated, because it will all be revealed to you if you are patient and when the timing is right.
